The Rockhill Story

Steeped in tradition, Rockhill Construction is helmed by Zachariah Rockhill, founder and CEO of Rockhill Group, who is a legacy builder boasting over 30 years of industry experience. His decorated past includes tenure as the lead foreman for his father’s architectural firm – the Cooper-Hewitt National Design Awardee finalist, Rockhill and Associates – and a brief artistic career showing and teaching at institutions including MoMa PS1, The Venice Biennial, UPenn and Cooper Union. Rockhill returned to the world of design and construction informed by these interdisciplinary endeavors poised to innovate and demonstrate the art of residential architecture and construction.

Under Rockhill’s guidance, his eponymous group continues to grow with over 125 employees and three self-sustaining businesses: Rockhill, high-end construction; Hatchet, a full-service design build team; and GDR, a bespoke millwork shop. Each branch bolsters the ability and know-how of its counterparts for a formidable trio of services without comparison.

Whether pre-existing intervention or new-build, their decades of technical construction prowess garners the company a city-wide reputation for competency in renovating and preserving historical homes as well as an aptitude to tackle a diverse range of projects including lofts, townhouses, rooftop suites, and ground-up developments.
